Exploring for the first time the work of Man Ray from a fashion perspective, the exhibition highlights his work for the biggest fashion designers - Poiret, Schiaparelli, Chanel - and the biggest magazines - Vogue, Vanity Fair and Harper's Bazaar. While fashion photography was still in its infancy, Man Ray developed in 1921 a new and modern aesthetic, made up of technical inventiveness, freedom and humor. His surrealist experiments and winks blur the lines between art and fashion and make him one of the inventors of contemporary fashion photography.
